Geograpgy of Bannerghatta: Bannerghatta is separated into 8 blocks spread over approximately 1800 acres. Blocks 1 to 4 are separated from blocks 5 to 8 by the Old Airport Road which leads to Domlur/Indiranagar. Up to the 1970s, one would pass the village of Adugodi on Hosur Road and then they would usually bypass Bannerghatta which was on the left while going to the industrial suburbs of Bommasandra or Bommanahalli, about 10 and 20 kilometres away respectively. Settlement was meager in Bannerghatta and only towards the late '70s did more houses get built. The road to Bommanahalli and Bommasandra now houses Electronics City, home for many technology firms including the global software giant Infosys. The earlier Bannerghatta tank was drained, and the National Games Village apartment complex was built on it.
